Author Bio
JAEL RICHARDSON is the author of the memoir The Stone Thrower, a picture book by the same title and the picture books Because You Are and The Hockey Jersey. Her debut novel, Gutter Child, was shortlisted for the Amazon First Novel Award. She is the founder and Executive Director of the Festival of Literary Diversity (FOLD) in Brampton, Ontario. Marty Chan writes books for kids, stage plays for adults, and social media posts for fun. He's best known for his bestselling thriller, Haunted Hospital. He's also written Dragon on the Loose, which was shortlisted for the Silver Birch Express Award in 2024. Marty has toured around the world without ever leaving his basement. He has developed a unique and dynamic way of presenting virtually using tech tricks, stage magic, and improv. He works and lives in Edmonton with his wife and their two cats.
CHAD LUCAS is the author of Thanks A Lot, Universe (winner of the Ann Connor Brimer Award for Atlantic Canadian Children’s Literature), Let The Monster Out (a 2023 Red Maple Award Nominee) and You Owe Me One, Universe. A proud descendant of the historic African Nova Scotian community of Lucasville, he lives with his family in Nova Scotia.
Mahtab Narsimhan is an internationally published, award-winning author of over twenty critically acclaimed books. Mahtab writes for all age groups—from picture books to young adult novels—many of which have been shortlisted for the Silver Birch, Red Maple, SYRCA, MYRCA and CCBC Best Books for Kids & Teens awards. She is deeply committed to representation and inclusivity in her work. Mahtab lives near Vancouver, BC.
