CCBC Book Awards

An award win can help kickstart a creator’s career, and strengthen a publisher’s brand in the industry. Perhaps most importantly, it raises awareness of the winning and nominated books across Canada, helping them find their way to a greater audience of young readers. Creators can have their work submitted for consideration through their publisher.

We administer seven awards, all of which celebrate excellence in Canadian children’s books.

Only works by Canadian authors and illustrators are eligible. This includes Canadian citizens, permanent residents, and First Nations, Métis and Inuit peoples of the land that is now called Canada.
