Description
Mama and Papa Poss continue their musical odyssey, taking a boat down the Mississippi River to the heart of New Orleans. Along the way, they meet up with a famous feline trumpet player, aptly named Louis Chatstrong, who invites them to his favorite club in the heart of the French Quarter. After sharing the stage all night with a band of cool-looking cats, they decide to get married and set off for their honeymoon on a streetcar named Desire! ?Partis pour la gloire à La Nouvelle-Orléans!? is the second story in the ?Nous sommes les opossums musiciens? series, which follows Mama and Papa Poss on their travels that bring them across North America to the birthplaces of Cajun, jazz, country, rock?n?rol., blues, and traditional Quebecois music. At the end of each story, explanatory notes delve into the key figures, instruments and customs behind each genre. A QR code in the book allows you to access all major streaming plaforms to listen to the narrated story and two songs (the original track ?Chat de ruelle? and the classic ?Oh, When the Saints?).
Author Bio
Avec sa voix envoûtante et ses rythmes chauds, Bïa tisse des ponts entre les cultures qui l’habitent, incluant celles de son Brésil natal, de la France et du Québec. Son premier album éponyme recevra le Grand Prix de l’Académie Charles-Cros en 1997 et l’album Cœur Vagabond remportera le Prix Félix dans la catégorie « Meilleur Album – Musiques du Monde » en 2006. Elle est l’auteure-compositrice de Pyjama Party publié en 2012 à La Montagne secrète.
Biographical note
Fanny Berthiaume began her career as a model maker, animator and illustrator for various productions. While completing studies in visual effects, she joined the team of Raynault VFX and contributed to the creation of environments and matte paintings for famous productions such as Beauty and the Beast, X-Men: Apocalypse and Wild (by Academy award-winning director Jean-Marc Vallée). She then pursued her career at Digital Dimension where she acted as a concept artist on several animated TV shows such as "Zafari" and "Improbable Pirate Adventures."
Biographical note
Bïa Krieger spent her teenage years in Brazil before moving to Paris where she recorded her first album in 1997 which was awarded the prestigious Grand Prix of the Charles-Cros Academy. Her album, Coeur Vagabond, produced in France and in Canada, received in 2006 the Prix Félix (French-Canadian equivalent of a Grammy) in the "Best World Music Album" category.
