Description
Every Saturday night, a young opossum musician leads the ball with his Cajun band at the Fais Dodo Thibaudeau deep in the bayou. In the audience, a beautiful young marsupial gradually succumbs to the charm of this little dobro player who looks like Zorro. That evening ends up being the beginning of a lifetime spent together, as retold by Grandma and Grandpa Poss, who would go on to form a famous musical duo that would tour the world. Avec sa voix envoûtante et ses rythmes chauds, Bïa tisse des ponts entre les cultures qui l’habitent, incluant celles de son Brésil natal, de la France et du Québec. Son premier album éponyme recevra le Grand Prix de l’Académie Charles-Cros en 1997 et l’album Cœur Vagabond remportera le Prix Félix dans la catégorie « Meilleur Album – Musiques du Monde » en 2006. Elle est l’auteure-compositrice de Pyjama Party publié en 2012 à La Montagne secrète.
Biographical note
Bïa Krieger spent her teenage years in Brazil before moving to Paris where she recorded her first album in 1997 which was awarded the prestigious Grand Prix of the Charles-Cros Academy. Her album, Coeur Vagabond, produced in France and in Canada, received in 2006 the Prix Félix (French-Canadian equivalent of a Grammy) in the "Best World Music Album" category.
