Prix Harry Black de l’album jeunesse

The Prix Harry Black (2017-2021) honoured excellence in French-language picture books for ages 3 to 8. The award, which was generously supported by Mary Macchiusi, was established to honour the late Harry Black. Among his many accomplishments, Harry Black was a much-appreciated director of UNICEF Canada. An author and illustrator in his own right, he loved children's books and believed that Canadian publishing was extremely important to the country. He felt that English and French publishing in Canada needed to work more closely together. In recognition of his work on behalf of the world's children and his service to his nation, Mr. Black was awarded the Order of Canada in 2003. The final Prix Harry Black was presented in 2021.
