François Thisdale is an award-winning illustrator of many books, living near Montreal with his wife and daughter.

François intricately combines painting and digital images to create captivating pieces of art that have been featured in many books including his own, Nini, Birdchild, The Stamp Collector, That Squeak, Missing Nimama, Bon Voyage Mister Rodriguez and Poetree. 

Awards for his work include the TD Canadian Children's Literature Award, USBBY Outstanding International Books, Crystal Kite Award, Elizabeth Mrazik-Cleaver Canadian Picture Book Award honour book, Amelia Frances Howard-Gibbon Illustrator’s Award Finalist and Marylin Baillie Picture Book Award Finalist.
