The Writers’ Guild of Alberta announced the winners of the 2025 Alberta Literary Awards at an in-person gala in Calgary on June 6th. The event brought together authors from across Alberta to celebrate the highest standard of literary excellence from Alberta authors. Tonya Simpson was awarded this year’s R. Ross Annett Award for Children’s Literature for her picture book This Land is a Lullaby, illustrated by Delreé Dumont (Orca Book Publishers).
