The Alberta Foundation for the Arts exists to encourage and support the arts as a significant contributor to quality of life in Alberta. They provide grant funding to artists and art organizations to encourage the growth and development of the arts sector. The Canada Council for the Arts contributes to the vibrancy of a creative and diverse arts and literary scene through their grants, services, prizes, and payments to Canadian artists and arts organizations. The Manitoba Arts Council awards professional arts organizations and individuals in all art forms, including theatre, literature, dance, music, painting, sculpture, architecture, or the graphic arts. These awards also include other similar creative or interpretative activity, including arts education. Manitoba Arts, Culture and Sport in Community contributes to a vibrant and prosperous Manitoba by celebrating, developing, supporting, and promoting the identity, creativity and well-being of Manitobans, their communities, and their province. The Ontario Arts Council awards grants and services to professional, Ontario-based artists and arts organizations to support arts education, Indigenous arts, community arts, crafts, dance, Francophone arts, literature, media arts, multidisciplinary arts, music, theatre, touring, and visual arts. Toronto Arts Council (TAC) is the City of Toronto’s funding body for artists and arts organizations. Since 1974, the TAC has offered innovative and responsive programs, enabling artists and arts organizations to explore, create and thrive. With funding of over $25 million annually, their grants lead to exhibitions, performances, readings, and workshops seen each year by over 5 million people across the city.
