At their recent annual meeting, IODE Canada announced the winner of the 2025 IODE Violet Downey Book Award for Children's Literature. This year's prize was awarded to author Deborah Ellis for her novel The Outsmarters, published by Groundwood Books.
The remaining finalists for the 2025 award include:

Iggy Included, written by Deborah Kerbel (Scholastic Canada)
Plagues Thieves, written by Caroline Fernandez (DCB Young Readers)
