Shortlists announced for the 2025 Lane Anderson Award

The Fitzhenry Family Foundation has announced the shortlists for the 2025 Lane Anderson Award. The annual prize of $10,000 honours the very best science writing in Canada today, both in the adult and young reader categories. The winners will be announced at a ceremony in Toronto, in January 2026. The shortlisted titles in the young reader category are listed below.

I Am Wind: An Autobiography, written by Rachel Poliquin, illustrated by Rachel Wada (Tundra Books)

A Planet Is a Poem, written by by Amanda West Lewis, illustrated by Oliver Averill (Kids Can Press)

Remember This: The Fascinating World of Memory, written by Monique Polak, illustrated by Valéry Goulet (Orca Book Publishers)
