Nominees announced for the 2025 Doug Wright Awards

The nominees for the 2025 Doug Wright Awards were recently announced, including The Egghead: The Doug Wright Award for Best Kids' Book. Established in 2005, the awards celebrate excellence in the field of Canadian comics and named for cartoonist Doug Wright (1917–1983).

In addition to the Egghead nominees, Rosena Fung's Age 16, Sid Sharp's Bog Myrtle and their publisher, Annick Press, are double nominees for the Doug Wright Award for Best Book and the The Nipper: The Doug Wright Award for Emerging Talent.

The awards ceremony, hosted by Jay Odjick, will take place on Saturday, June 7 at 8 pm EDT at Toronto's Arts & Letter Club, and the event will be livestreamed on YouTube. The nominees for the Egghead are listed below.
