The Vancouver Children's Literature Roundtable (VCLR) has announced the winner of the 2025 Sheila Barry Best Canadian Picturebook of the Year Award. The prize, established in 2021, celebrates the picture book art form that highlights the interdependence of pictures and words. This year's winner is Let's Go! / haw êkwa! by Julie Flett (Greystone Kids). Two honour books were also named: This Land is a Lullaby, written by Tonya Simpson, illustrated by Delrée Dumont (Orca Book Publishers); and The Weedflower, written by Elizabeth Davaze, illustrated by Marianne Ferrer (Owlkids Books).

All three books will be celebrated at VCLR's annual Fall Tea, which is taking place at the University Golf Club on Saturday, November 15 at 1 pm PT. Tickets go on sale September 25.
