The Science Writers and Communicators of Canada (SWCC) announced the winners of the 2024 SWCC Book Awards on September 15. Presented annually, the awards celebrate great science books for readers of all ages. I Am the Wind: An Autobiography, written by Rachel Poliquin and illustrated by Rachel Wada (Tundra Books) took home the $1,000 prize in the youth category.
The jury had this to say about I Am the Wind:
"It was a breath of fresh air to learn more about this engaging topic incorporating history, mythology and science."
