
On December 31, 2025, Her Excellency the Right Honourable Mary Simon, Governor General of Canada, made 80 new appointments to the Order of Canada. Among the appointees is Canadian author Elizabeth MacLeod.
An award-winning children’s author, Elizabeth MacLeod has written compelling narratives that make topics like science and history accessible and exciting for young readers. Some of her works have showcased features, events and prominent individuals who have shaped the nation’s identity, helping children become critical thinkers and involved in their communities.
