
The Canadian Children’s Book Centre’s Annual General Meeting is taking place virtually on Wednesday, June 10, 2026. In accordance with Section 3.04(b) of our bylaws please accept this notice as a formal call for the nomination of directors. The members will elect new director(s) to the board to fill four vacancies at the Annual General Meeting. Each Director shall be elected for an initial term of three years. Each Director is eligible for election for a further consecutive term of three years. We welcome nominations from the general membership.
Qualities we are looking for in a potential board member:
- strong belief in and commitment to the mission and goals of the CCBC;
- a background in fund development, finance, governance, marketing/social media, children's publishing, and/or legal preferred;
- ability to work collaboratively;
- able to commit to giving time and energy to the organization;
- previous governance experience preferred, but not necessary;
- as part of our ongoing mission to regional diversity, we encourage candidates from across Canada.

Requirements:
Candidates must be at least 18 years of age. They are either a member of the CCBC, or within 30 days of notice from the Board, become a member of the CCBC.
Time Commitment:
- 4-6 board meetings annually;
- the CCBC Board has two standing committees of Governance and Fund Development that meet 2-3 times per year;
- travel is not required, as most activities are done remotely;
- 3-4 hours a month.

Once a nomination is received by the nominating committee of the board, it will issue a form of consent to the nominee that must be completed and returned by June 1, 2026.
