BIOGRAPHY
My first published works were newspaper and magazine articles, which began when I was studying for a Bachelor of Journalism at Carleton University's School of Journalism (with a minor in English) in Ottawa, Canada. After graduation, I went on to do some broadcasting while working on a non-fiction manuscript. This would end up being my first published book, called Winds of Change: The Life and Legacy of Calvin W. Ruck. I decided to move back home to Halifax and found further success with non-fiction titles. The second is called Against the Grain: A Biography of Dr. John Savage. With a desire to write for a younger audience, my third book, also in the non-fiction realm, was a middle grade work called Amazing Black Atlantic Canadians: Inspiring Stories of Courage and Achievement. My first children's picture book, called My Favourite Colour, was released in 2023 and celebrates the beauty of diversity. In 2024, my second children's picture book, This Big Heart, goes through all of the emotions that come with losing someone you love. I have a third children's picture book due to be released in Spring 2025, which will also focus on the beauty of diversity. I have had the pleasure of hosting and moderating several events within my province of Nova Scotia and love connecting with readers during these engagements.

Kids will come away with their own book that they’ve proudly created to celebrate every colour under the sun.
