PRESENTATION DESCRIPTIONS
Presentations can be given in English and French as the books will be available in both languages, as of December 2025.
Moreover, I would be happy to offer presentations of my French-language books, including Albertine Petit-Brindamour déteste les choux de Bruxelles, Les oreilles de Chester, and C’est quoi, la gentillesse ?, which are not currently available in English.
These presentations would follow a similar format to my English sessions and include a read-aloud followed by a fun and engaging craft project connected to the story. Additional information about each session is available upon request—I’d be delighted to discuss options that best suit your group’s needs.
How Abigail Found Her Voice
Target Audience: Grades 1 - 3
Maximum group size: 50 students
This school presentation introduces students to How Abigail Found Her Voice, a heartfelt picture book about creativity, self-expression, and the many ways a person can be heard—even when they don’t sound like everyone else. The reading of the book is followed by a brief Q &A and a craft project or writing activity related to the book.
Book synopsis: Abigail Fennelfly longs to be in the school choir. But when she sings, people cringe, wince, and wonder if a duck, a door, or a cat is to blame. Still Abigail realizes she has a voice inside her that won’t stay quiet—so she begins writing her own songs, silly and soulful, wild and wonderful. Soon, something amazing happens: her classmates start singing her tunes, and her words echo far beyond her own voice. A story filled with humour, heart, and imagination, How Abigail Found Her Voice celebrates the power of self-expression and finding your own way to shine.
Mr. Kuroki's Garden

This school presentation introduces students to Mr. Kuroki’s Garden, a poetic picture book inspired by a true story of devotion, perseverance, and the healing power of love and nature. The reading of the book is followed by a brief Q &A and a craft project or writing activity related to the book.
Book synopsis: Mr. Kuroki’s Garden is inspired by a true story. When Mrs. Kuroki loses her sight and retreats into loneliness, her devoted husband refuses to let her fade away. Determined to bring joy back into her life, he transforms their fields into a breathtaking pink shibazakura garden—a fragrant oasis, which ultimately attracts visitors from near and far. As strangers become friends, sharing stories and laughter, Mrs. Kuroki slowly reawakens to the world. Perfect for readers who cherish emotional, true-life narratives, Mr. Kuroki’s Garden is a testament to how one person’s devotion can bloom into something extraordinary.
