Spend the week at the Rescue Cat Café! Using her heartfelt picture book about the connection humans can find with animals, Anna Humphrey will touch on issues of diversity and inclusion by discussing how animals can be just as diverse in their personalities as people. She’ll talk about how her shyness and anxiety as a child led her to a life of writing. She’ll then read the story, which goes over the seven days of the week, emphasizes the importance of adopting animals in need of a home, and offers gentle validation for readers (and cats!) about coming out of your shell at your own pace when you’re nervous or shy. This will be followed by a quick Q&A.
