Stephanie Wells appointed Executive Director of the Canadian Children’s Book Centre
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Toronto (January 24, 2024)—Following an extensive recruitment and interview process, the Canadian Children’s Book Centre (CCBC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Stephanie Wells as Executive Director effective January 29, 2024. Stephanie brings a wealth of leadership experience in both trade and educational publishing, as well as in the not-for-profit and business sectors.
"We are thrilled to welcome Stephanie to the CCBC team,” says Urve Tamberg, President, Board of Directors. “Her exceptional leadership skills, strategic vision, EDI training and in-depth understanding of the publishing industry will serve her well as she moves the organization forward.”
In her new role, Stephanie will work with the board and staff to implement strategic initiatives that align with CCBC's mission and objectives.
“I am honoured and thrilled to join the Canadian Children’s Book Centre in their efforts to advance awareness, appreciation and the success of Canadian books for young readers,” says Stephanie Wells. “I look forward to working with the CCBC team and the book-loving communities across the country that engage in creating and raising awareness of the exceptional children’s books published each year in Canada.”
Stephanie holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts from Trent University, as well as a Masters of English Literature from the University of Toronto.
