Announcing the 10 Finalists for the 2023 Elizabeth Mrazik-Cleaver Canadian Picture Book Award
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: (January 31, 2024)—Every year, IBBY Canada presents the Elizabeth Mrazik-Cleaver Canadian Picture Book Award to a Canadian illustrator in recognition of outstanding artistic talent in a Canadian picture book.
The illustrators of the 10 finalist books, through a range of styles and mediums and with thoughtful detail, beautifully depict stories of joy and longing, nature and the environment, and friendship and family with exceptional talent and originality.
The finalists were selected from 134 books submitted by 40 publishers. The finalists are:

The Elizabeth Mrazik-Cleaver Canadian Picture Book Award is administered by a committee of three members of the Canadian section of the International Board on Books for Young People. The winner will be announced at the IBBY Canada Annual Meeting of Members on March 30, 2024—all are invited to attend.

IBBY, the International Board on Books for Young People, was founded in 1953. It is a network of organizations in 79 countries committed to bringing books and children together.
IBBY Canada, established in 1980, is a volunteer organization promoting quality French-language and English-language Canadian children’s literature nationally and internationally.
