It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Virginia Davis on February 20, 2016. Former executive director of the Canadian Children’s Book Centre (1981-1984), Virginia was also a librarian, supervisor of school library services, teacher, editor, reviewer, author and book wholesaler. A constant and energetic advocate for Canadian children’s books, she was the 1994 recipient of IBBY Canada’s Claude Aubry Award for distinguished service to Canadian children’s literature.
