The Winterset Award was established by journalist and author Richard Gwyn to commemorate his late wife Sandra Fraser Gwyn, the St. John’s-born social historian and prize-winning author. The award is designed to promote excellence in all genres of writing, and is awarded annually to an outstanding literary work. Recipients of the award will receive a cash prize of $5,000.
