Are you a YA writer, reader, editor, or publisher?
Young Adulting, an online magazine that celebrates, engages with, and reviews contemporary literature for young adults (YA), middle-grade (MG) and new adults (NA), has recently launched.
Based out of the Creative Writing Program at the University of British Columbia (UBC), Young Adulting is a forum for critical engagement with contemporary anglophone books for young readers. In a changing publishing climate, YA is one of the only consistently growing literary sectors and the source for countless film, television, and game adaptations. These novels are complex, respond to social change, represent the diversity of their readers, and cross a broad swath of sub-genres from contemporary realism to urban fantasy to historical fiction.
The site will develop into a platform where authors can add their voices to the conversation alongside reviewers and scholars of this literature. For the time being, reviews will be posted weekly.
At this time, the website would like to welcome you to send copies of upcoming young adult, middle-grade, and new adult fiction. ARCs and books can be mailed to the UBC Creative Writing Program (address below) or emailed to young.adulting@ubc.ca.
