Support the Amy Mathers Teen Book Award this #GivingTuesday
YA books are more popular than ever but teens still have trouble finding Canadian reads. Help support Canadian YA authors by donating to the Amy Mathers Teen Book Award and help us spread awareness of all of the great #CanLit books for teens.
Inspired by Terry Fox’s and Rick Hansen’s Canadian journeys, in 2014 Amy Mathers decided to honour her passion for reading Canadian teen literature, while working around her physical limitations, by completing a marathon of books. Throughout the marathon, Amy read one Canadian teen fiction book a day for each day of 2014, in order to raise funds for this award. In the six years since the award was founded, $30,000 has been given directly to creators to support their writing and elevate YA fiction in Canada.
