Tim Wynne-Jones appointed to the Order of Canada

Award-winning children’s author Tim Wynne-Jones has been appointed as a member of the Order of Canada by His Excellency the Right Honourable David Johnston, Governor General of Canada. The announcement was made in Ottawa on December 30, 2011. Wynne-Jones was chosen for his contributions to Canadian children’s literature.

Tim Wynne-Jones is one of Canada’s most beloved authors. He has written over 25 books for young people and has won countless awards including two Governor General’s Awards for Children’s Literature and three Canadian Library Association Book of the Year Awards. His work has been translated into Japanese, Korean, Danish, Dutch, German, French, Italian, Hebrew, Spanish and Catalan. His works include The Maestro, The Boy in the Burning House, Zoom at Sea, the Rex Zero series, and A Thief in the House of Memory. Tim’s latest book, Blink and Caution, won the Boston Globe-Horn Book Award in 2011. He is also IBBY Canada‘s author nomination for the 2012 Hans Christian Anderson Award.
