Sun Dog by Deborah Kerbel and illustrator Suzanne Del Rizzo has won the 2019 IODE Ontario Jean Throop Book Award. The award was presented at the 99th IODE Ontario Annual Meeting on Saturday, April 27th in Kingston, Ontario.

The IODE Ontario Jean Throop Book Award was founded in 1975 through the efforts of Education Officer, Ms. Jean Throop who “urged the IODE Toronto Municipal Education Committee to take action to encourage the publishing of more and better children’s Canadian books.” The award is funded by the IODE Toronto Legacy Fund.
