Shortlist Announced for the 2013 Violet Downey Book Award

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: TORONTO (February 26, 2013) – The shortlist for The National Chapter of Canada IODE Violet Downey Book Award, valued at $5,000, has been selected from among submitted books published in Canada in 2012. The Award is offered annually for the best young children’s English language book containing at least 500 words of text. The winner will be announced at IODE Canada’s 113th National Annual Meeting being held at the Carriage House Inn in Calgary, Alberta on May 31, 2013. The five Canadian authors shortlisted for this Award are:
