The Children’s Literature Roundtables of Canada have selected Potatoes on Rooftops: Farming in the by Hadley Dyer (Annick Press) as the winner of the 2013 Information Book Award. Rescuing the Children: The Story of the Kindertransport by Deborah Hodge (Tundra Books) is this year’s honour book.

The 2013 award will be presented on March 8, 2014 at Serendipity.

The other finalists are City Critters: Wildlife in the Urban Jungle by Nicholas Read (Orca Book Publishers), Kate and Pippin: An Unlikely Love Story by Martin Springett and Isobel Springett (Puffin Canada) and How to Raise Monarch Butterflies: A Step-by-Step Guide for Kids by Carol Pasternak (Firefly Books).
