The Canadian Children’s Book Centre’s Annual General Meeting will take place on Monday, June 13 in Toronto. At that time, the slate for the 2011 Board of Directors will be tabled. One opening on the Board will be available and we welcome nominations from the general membership.

If you are a member in good standing with the Canadian Children’s Book Centre and have someone in mind who you think would be an asset to the CCBC and its mission and goals, please send the name of the person you are nominating along with their mailing address, email address, current telephone number and a short bio to Charlotte Teeple care of the CCBC (charlotte@bookcentre.ca). Your nomination should come no later than April 10, 2011.

Some of the qualities we are looking for in a potential board member:

• strong belief in and commitment to the mission and goals of the CCBC
• would be interested in people with background in finance, public relations, fundraising
• must work well in groups
• although not essential, a plus would be some background in children’s literature
• able to commit to giving time and energy to the organization

The candidate must be at least eighteen years of age and a Canadian citizen or landed immigrant.
