Canadian Librarians Are Serving Children (CLASC) is a network of the Canadian Library Association and a virtual hub connecting children’s services librarians and staff across Canada.
CLASC is a forum and platform for the exchange of ideas and resources relating to children’s programs, children’s collections or children’s spaces in libraries. Library-related tween topics also fall under CLASC’s area of interest.
CLASC offers occasional professional development lectures or workshops. All resources on the CLASC website will remain free and accessible.
Co-moderators, Ellen Wu and Kay Weisman, will stimulate communication and action, but all members will have the right to and will be encouraged to contribute content.
Both public and school library topics are relevant to this group and we welcome members working in both school and public libraries. We also welcome participation from members in childhood or children’s literature studies, and those who work in children’s publishing.
CLASC advocates for children’s rights in the library, children’s literature and children’s rights to access information.
