Renowned artist, author, and illustrator Richard Ungar has created this touching painting of Canadian children’s bookstore Mabel’s Fables as a retirement gift for children’s book edit Peter Carver, who is retiring after teaching Writing for Children at George Brown College for 25 years.
“Well, not exactly at George Brown.” Ungar notes. “You see, for many years Peter had taught the class on the second floor of Mabel’s.”
The painting will be sold in giclee and poster format, with a portion of the proceeds going to The Stephen Lewis Foundation.
