Continuing the Writers Guild of Alberta’s 15 year tradition of bringing writing focused camps for youth (first as YouthWrite and now as inkPulse) inkPulse presents an exciting and dynamic writing day camp for teens!
inkPulse taps into the imagination through creation, collaboration and diversity! Talented Canadian artists join forces to bring exciting lessons incorporating movement, sound, performance and writing exercises, all designed to inspire text creation. The days are jam-packed. Campers will work individually, in small groups and with the entire ensemble; classes are taught by individual instructors, pairs of teachers and the whole teaching team.
Camp day runs from 10am-5pm (except Edmonton which runs 9am-4pm). Friday are extended days in order to celebrate the week with a wrap up event which runs from 5-7pm (for all camps) where participants present their work to their family and friends.
Each day begins with a warm-up, designed not only to prepare campers vocally and physically for the work, but also to jump start their imagination and get their creativity flowing.
Next, campers will take part in a group writing activity, a lesson from one of inkPulse’sinstructors, and then lunch. During the afternoon, campers will have journaling time, take another great class with a second instructor and attend a workshop hosted by a guest writer. Busy? You betcha! Fun? Oh yeah!
inkPulse’s goal is to give campers the opportunity to express themselves freely while they connect with other creative teens and meet brilliant Canadian artists and we want to squeeze the most out of every moment.
