Finalists for the Violet Downey Book Award Announced

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Toronto (March 8, 2011) – The shortlist for the National Chapter of Canada IODE Violet Downey Book Award has been selected from among submitted books published in Canada in 2010. The award carries a cash prize of $3,000 and is offered annually for the best young children’s English-language book containing at least 500 words of text. The winner will be announced at IODE Canada’s 111th Annual Meeting in Halifax, Nova Scotia, on May 27, 2010. The finalists are listed below.
