The Moonbeam Children’s Book Awards contest is designed to honour the year’s best children’s books, authors and illustrators. This exciting new book awards program is open to authors, illustrators, and publishers of children’s books written in English or Spanish and intended for the North American market.
This year, two Manitobian authors will be honoured at the 5th annual Independent Publishers Moonbeam Awards, which are taking place on November 12th during the 2nd annual Traverse City Children’s Book Festival. Craig Russel, author of Black Bottle Man, has won the Gold Medal in Moonbeam’s Young Adult Fiction (Fantasy/Sci-Fi) category. Rae Bridgman, author of Kingdom of Trolls, tied for a Bronze Medal in the Pre-Teen Fantasy-Fiction category.
