Each year, students aged 5 to 18 are invited to take part in Canadian Heritage’s Canada Day Poster Challenge by designing a poster that illustrates their pride in Canada and in being Canadian. This year’s theme is Canada: A proud past, a bright future!
Illustrate how the people, places and events of the past have shaped our country. Our history abounds with colourful characters and tales — from the early explorers like Champlain and Hudson who traced a path across the country, to the building of the Canadian Pacific Railway that joined Canada from east to west. Our country’s magnificent natural beauty serves as a backdrop to these stories, many of the finest examples of which are showcased in our national parks and historic sites. The year 2011 marks the Centennial of the world’s first national parks service – Parks Canada, which protects and presents significant aspects of our country’s natural and cultural heritage, on behalf of the people of Canada.
The deadline for submitting your poster, along with an entry form, is March 31, 2011.
