First Nation Communities Read (FNCR) is calling for titles for its 2012-13 program. The 2012-13 program will focus exclusively on children’s books. The submissions deadline is Wednesday, January 18, 2012.
Publishers must supply seven copies of each title submission. Titles must be written and/or illustrated by, or otherwise involve the participation of, an aboriginal creator, or contain aboriginal content produced with the overt support of an aboriginal advisor/consultant, or aboriginal endorsement. Books previously submitted are not eligible. Publishers should also consider book stock availability (250 copies minimum), and the availability of each book’s creators to participate in some conference and touring activity in Ontario in June during National Aboriginal History Month.
FNCR, celebrating its ninth year in 2012-13, acknowledges the financial support of the Government of Canada through the Canada Book Fund.
More information about FNCR is available on the Southern Ontario Library Service website on the FNCR page. Direct questions to Patty Lawlor, FNCR program coordinator, at 416-961-1669 ext. 5108, or email@example.com. Submissions should be sent to Patty Lawlor’s attention at the address below.
