Tim Wynne-Jones is the latest Canadian children’s author to win the Boston Globe-Horn Book Award, for his book, Blink and Caution. The award will be presented to him on Friday, September 30, 2011 at Simmons College in Boston, MA.
The following day, the winners will take part in the Horn Book at Simmons Colloquium. This event will bring together librarians, educators and children’s literature professionals to examine the Boston Globe-Horn Book winners. This day-long event includes talks, panel discussions and small group sessions to explore how books for chidren and teens interpret the world for young readers as well as new strategies for bringing young people and books together.
ABOUT THE BOSTON GLOBE-HORN BOOK AWARDS
Presented annually since 1967, the Boston Globe–Horn Book Awards are among the most prestigious honours in the field of children’s and young adult literature. The winners and honour books are selected from three categories: Picture Books, Fiction and Poetry, and Non-Fiction. The event at Simmons College includes the awards ceremony with speeches from the honorees, followed by an autographing session and a celebratory reception.
