The winners of the Geoffrey Bilson Award for Historical Fiction for Young People, Norma Fleck Award for Canadian Children’s Non-Fiction, Marilyn Baillie Picture Book Award and TD Canadian Children’s Literature Award were announced in Toronto on November 19, 2009 at The Carlu.

John Ibbitson was the recipient of the Bilson Award for his book, The Landing. Mariatu Kamara and Susan McClelland were the recipients of the Fleck Award for their book, The Bite of the Mango. Hazel Hutchins, Gail Herbert and Dušan Petričić were the winners of the Baillie Award for their picture book, Mattland and Nicola I. Campbell and Kim LaFave were the winners of the TD Canadian Children’s Literature Award for their picture book, Shin-chi’s Canoe. Congratulations go out to all the winners and finalists.
