Rocky Mountain Book Award is proud to announce the 2nd Richard Chase Memorial Tour event with three of our gold medalists! January 27, 8-9PM EST.

About this Event

As part of our 20th anniversary celebrations, the Richard Chase Memorial Author Tours are to be held in honour of one of our founding members Richard Chase, who passed away suddenly in November 2019. One of Richard’s most gratifying roles in his work with the Rocky Mountain Book Award (RMBA) was to introduce children to “real authors.” These virtual author tours are designed to highlight RMBA’s exciting list of award-winning titles and authors.

For our 2nd event, we are welcoming three award-winning authorsto a virtual panel. Eric Walters won a RMBA gold medal for Safe as Houses in 2009; Rona Arato won an RMBA gold medal for The Last Train: A Holocaust Story in 2015, and; Karen Levine won an RMBA gold medal for Hana’s Suitcase in 2004. The event will be moderated by a guest moderator, Paige McGeorge, Lethbridge’s very own teen librarian and a past RMBA reader. This event is open to all members of the community who love reading and support Canadian literature. We encourage you to tune in while you have dinner with your family, with your reading clubs, or for an exciting talk on your own!

Registrants who attend the event will be entered in a draw to win a FREE copy of Safe as Houses, The Last Train: A Holocaust Story, and Hana’s Suitcase, as well as a new Rocky Mountain Book Award face mask!

We will have a sign language (ASL) interpreter on this call for increased accessibility.
