Canadian Children’s Book Authors to Welcome Syrian Refugees in Guelph

A group of Canadian authors will be on hand to welcome new Syrian refugee families and their children to Guelph this fall. The event will take place at Westwood Public School on September 17, and will be open to Syrian refugees, their families and their sponsors and families.

Authors Eric Walters, Werner Zimmerman, Jean Little, Kathy Stinson, Janet Wilson, Kira Vermond, Jo Ellen Bogart, Lisa Darlyrmple and Robert Munsch will be in attendance. Several publishers and the Ontario Library Association have agreed to donate books to be given to the families.

In conjunction with the Islamic Society and the Upper Grand Board,  the mayor of Guelph, Cam Guthrie, and the local MP, Lloyd Longfield, will also be attending.
